The Local Authority has a duty to provide school places to all pupils resident in its area: Leicestershire achieves this by giving high priority to catchment area children and by allowing parental preference wherever possible. Blaby Stokes CE Primary School admissions policy and procedure supports Leicestershire’s position.

Parents must apply to their home Local Authority for a school place. (For example, if you live in Northamptonshire but would like to send your child to a school in Leicestershire, you must apply for that school via your Northamptonshire Council website). The admissions window for first time primary school places, runs during your child's preschool year -

Key Dates:

• Application window opens: September 
• Application window closes: January
• Notified of school place: April 
• Starts school: End of August/September

So, if your child is due to start school in September 2025, the process starts in September 2024.

Midterm Transfers

For midterm transfers, please apply via the Learn Academies Trust admissions portal at apply.learnat.uk. The school no longer processes midterm admissions through the Local Authority. If you have any questions or require assistance with your application, please contact the school office.

We fully participate in the Local Authority's coordinated admissions scheme. As per the School Admissions Code, all admitting authorities must aim to inform parents of their decision within 10 school days, and it is mandatory that a decision is communicated within 15 school days.

The Trust/Governors agreed, by 28th February 24, operational capacities for the 2024/25 academic year for Blaby Stokes Primary Academy. Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 will have an operation capacity of 30.
